Claude Bourgelat
Claude Bourgelat was a founder of scientically informed veterinary medicine, and he create one of the earliest schools for training professional veterinarians. The first veterinary school was founded in Lyon, France, in 1762. He was a French veterinary surgeon. He initially studied law and worked as barrister, but he interested in veterinary medicine because of his interest in horses. In 1750,Bourgelat wrote book on the topic of veterinary medicine, in which he considered the idea of founding a veterinary school.
